Hillsborough County Solar Co-Op Extends Deadline and Announces Installer

Post Date:01/22/2018

 Tampa Bay Solar

The Hillsborough County Solar Co-Op Group B, 47 members strong and growing, hosted a selection committee meeting in January to review contractor bids and select a single installer to complete all of the group’s solar projects. Tampa Bay Solar, an experienced local company, was selected by Co-Op participants from among six candidates for its ability to provide quality components and a variety of options for Co-Op members. The next step is for Tampa Bay Solar to provide individualized proposals to each Co-Op participant. Members will then review their proposal and sign a contract, should they decide to move forward with the installation.

Interested residents still have an opportunity to register, with no obligation or commitment to purchase solar panels. Co-Op Group B, in coordination with Solar United Neighbors of Florida and Tampa Bay Solar, extended the registration deadline to February 9, 2018. Hillsborough County residents interested in joining can sign-up at the Hillsborough County Solar Co-Op website .
Solar United Neighbors of Florida expands access to solar energy by educating residents about its benefits; helping them organize group solar installations to leverage buying power; and strengthening Florida’s solar policies and its community of solar supporters. Solar United Neighbors, along with Hillsborough County, the League of Women Voters, the Environmental Protection Commission and many other supporting organizations, are working together to help Hillsborough County residents tap into our homegrown energy and go solar!
