Hillsborough Solar Co-op selects Region Solar to serve group
Tampa, FL – The Hillsborough 2023 Solar Co-op has selected Region Solar to install solar panels for the 46-member group. Co-op members selected Region Solar through a competitive bidding process ver nine other firms. The group will hold its next public Solar 101 on July 25 at 6 p.m. Attendees can access it online by using the RSVP link below. The Solar 101 is an opportunity to learn about solar and the co-op process.

"We are filled with gratitude to have been chosen for this year's Hillsborough County solar co-op and to work with Solar United Neighbors again," said Buca Forrester, Region Solar Managing Director. "We are a local, family-owned and operated Southwest Florida company. We live and work locally and are here to support the community and industry. As Independence Day approaches, we hope to help as many co-op members as possible gain their energy independence."
Solar United Neighbors expands access to solar by educating Tampa-area residents about the benefits of distributed solar energy, helping them organize group solar installations, and strengthening Florida’s solar policies and its community of solar supporters.
Co-op members selected Region Solar for equipment offerings, price, warranty and experience. "The installer we chose gives co-op members a good combination of value and equipment options for their solar and battery needs. SUN did an excellent job presenting the information from the bids, moderating the meeting, and keeping member criteria in focus. Being a part of this process has me feeling excited and confident to move forward." said Nuzum Lamar, Valrico resident and member of the 2023 Hillsborough Solar Co-op.
The co-op is open to new members until August 4. Hillsborough County residents interested in joining the co-op can sign up at the co-op web page.
The solar co-op is free to join and joining the co-op is not a commitment to purchase panels. Region Solar will provide each co-op member with an individualized proposal based on the group rate. By going solar as a group and choosing a single installer, members can save on the cost of going solar and have the support of fellow group members and solar experts at Solar United Neighbors.
