EPC is proud to announce the winners of the 2021 Clean Air Month Photography Contest! 

We thank all the Middle and High School students that entered this year's photo contest.  This year's theme was Treasure Our Environment of Champions.  Each submitted photo artwork demonstrated sound environmental stewardship principals and promoted how everyone can be an environmental champion.

2021 winners and honorable mentions represented 4 different high schools: Blake, Wharton, Plant City and Berkeley Prep. The submittals were so impressive that this year we had a tie for both second and third place! All winners/honorable mentions received a certificate.  The top 3 finishers received cash prize, as did the winning student’s school, Blake High School.

Great Power Comes with Great Responsibility

"As champions, I believe we as a community have a duty to be role models in protecting our environment. I included a pelican, cormorant, and seagulls to represent our Florida wildlife. Those animals rely on Floridians to keep their habitats clean and free of pollution. More often than not, when someone litters the garbage finds its way into the bay...It is crucial that we keep our waterways clean and free of plastic. It is our job as Floridians to protect the ecosystem of Tampa."- Jolina Jasperson

Every Breath You Take

"As each player inhales it brings us as humans closer than ever to the environment. We must interact with these connections as our environment is slowly running out of its own breath. By showing how even mundane actions like a football play can so easily relate to the earths air, powerfully initiates its importance." - Amelia Brown

Recycling Like A Champ

"Especially in times like now when global warming is only getting worse, we need to recycle materials and help keep our beautiful Mother Nature clean. It is so easy to just “Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle”. Global warming doesn’t end over night but the more we keep our communities clean of trash we’re doing a lot." - N'ryah Maddox

One Bottle at a Time

"The statewide recycling rate is currently recorded at just 49%, with one of the main reasons being items put in recycling bins that is not recyclable, or some not recycling at all. To keep our environment and bay clean we need to all recycle and practice correct recycling habits, and work together as a team to keep the level of contaminated items in our recycling bins down."- Olivia Milburn

Garden of Champions

"The environment plays a large role in our lives and creating and maintaining new life within it is important. As environmental champions it is our duty to cultivate the land to promote the well-being of the environment."- Jaidon Gordon
