Kent Bailey, former Chair of the Tampa Bay Sierra Club and beloved environmental advocate, was honored with a memorial tribute during the February EPC Commission Meeting. The Board of County Commissioners issued an In Memoriam Proclamation, read by Commissioner Pat Kemp. Additionally, an EPC Lifetime Achievement Award honoring Kent was presented to his family by EPC Executive Director Janet Dougherty and EPC Commission Chair Mariella Smith. Guest speakers included Kent's wife Cathy Bailey; his daughter, Michelle Bailey Quire; and current Chair of the Tampa Bay Sierra Club, Rocky Milburn.

Kent's family shared a special newsletter entitled Remembering Kent Bailey with the EPC Commission, which serves as a touching tribute to a man who dedicated his life to sharing his love and passion for the environment. We remember him most for his warm heart and unquenchable spirit. His absence leaves a void that cannot be filled; he will be deeply missed by all those whose lives he touched.
