De-minimus Activities

Some activities, if properly managed, are considered to be de-minimus with respect to environmental impact. As such these activities are not regulated. However, the Compliance Assurance Section does respond to citizen’s complaints related to defined de-minimus activities. Below is a list of activities and conditions that renders the activity de-minimus:

 

 

Water Cooled Residential Air Condition Systems

Water softener regenerate


Residential only. Release sheet flows over land or sub-surface without leaving the property.

 


Swimming pool backwash


Residential pools only. Minimize runoff to storm sewers and ponds

 


Washing machine discharge


Residential, non-surface water discharge, no nuisance conditions exits

 


Car wash


Residential only, Tenant car wash where washing is centralized and runoff contained within swales or onsite storm water system



 


Animal manure spreading
