Pollution Recovery Fund (PRF) Grant

PRF Grant Overview:
The Environmental Protection Commission of Hillsborough County’s Pollution Recovery Fund is governed by Chapter 1-9, Rules of the Environmental Protection Commission for the purpose of funding restoration of polluted areas, the mitigation of the effects of pollution and to otherwise enhance pollution control activities within Hillsborough county.

It is the Commission's intent that the monies be used so as to accomplish an improvement in the purity of the waters, soils or air of the county consistent with public health and enjoyment thereof, and the propagation and protection of wildlife, birds, game, fish and other aquatic life within Hillsborough County.

NOTICE:

The EPC will not be accepting applications for new projects for 2011 due to the limited availability of funds. The Pollution Recovery Fund is comprised of monies collected through administrative penalties and costs associated with commission and/or enforcement action. As a consequence of the national and local economic downturn, the fund has diminished. It is the intent of staff to allow the fund additional time to build up to a level that will accommodate future grant projects.
