Air Partnership
EPC and the
Pinellas County Department of Environmental Management (DEM) have
collaborated to form the Clean Air Partnership (CAP) program to address
the vehicular contribution to air pollution levels in Hillsborough and

West Central Florida Air Quality Coordinating Committee
(WCFAQCC)
EPC is a founding member of the West
Central Florida Air Quality Coordinating Committee (WCFAQCC). The
WCFAQCC was organized nearly 10 years ago as a regional consortium of
air quality and transportation professionals representing the public and
private sectors. The membership includes agencies from the Metropolitan
Planning Organizations; the environmental agencies of Hillsborough,
Pinellas, Polk, Pasco, Hernando, Sarasota and Manatee counties; and EPA
Region 4, Florida Department of Environmental Protection, FDOT District
7, USF researchers, energy suppliers and transit agencies. To find out

Diesel Retrofit Program
In 2004, EPA awarded the EPC $200,000 to
install oxidation catalysts on approximately 150 school buses. These
catalysts will reduce children’s’ exposure to diesel exhaust emissions.
EPC and the School District of Hillsborough County have joined forces to
establish the Hillsborough County Diesel Retrofit Program. It is the
only one of its kind in the entire State of Florida.
Smart Driver Program
The
Smart Driver Campaign is an education and outreach program that
stresses the need to reduce automobile emissions by driving smarter.
The program’s message, to reduce emissions and achieve energy savings,
is presented at homeowner’s association meetings, businesses, government
functions and various public events. Contact our Smart Driver staff and
