Fertilizer Use & Landscape Management
Background & Rule
On July 15, 2010, at a public hearing, the EPC adopted a new Fertilizer Use and Landscape Management Rule. The rule became effective July 20, 2010.

The rule features a one year grace period to emphasize education. During this year and beyond the EPC will provide education regarding the rule and the need to protect our water quality. Please check back to this website which will have educational materials added in the next few weeks. Additionally, the website will include information regarding classroom and/or on-line training for commercial applicators, decals for commercial applicator vehicles, etc.

Fertilizer Use & Landscape Management Variance Form & Notice
  • Variance Application - Please use the attached form to apply for a variance from the Fertilizer Use and Landscape Management Rule (Chp. 1-15). You may attach addition information, photos, or diagrams if necessary. Please be aware that notice your request will be posted on the EPC fertilizer website. Please do not initiate requested variance activities, unless and until the EPC issues an order granting the variance. Persons may challenge the issuance or denial of a variance via an administrative hearing.
  • Notice of Recent Variance Requests - A notice of all recent requests for variance will be posted on the EPC fertilizer website. Affected persons may challenge via an administrative hearing the issuance or denial of a variance.
