Household chemicals such as used oil, cleaners, paints, stains, paint thinners and strippers, fuels, insecticides, herbicides, fertilizers and the like, all require special attention when it comes to ensuring their responsible disposal.

In order to ensure that these materials are disposed properly, the Hillsborough County Solid Waste Management Department sponsors a monthly Household Chemical Collection Center (HCCC). Currently the HCCC is alternated between an Apollo Beach site and a location in the Town and Country area.

The Environmental Protection Commission actively supports the Solid Waste Management Department’s efforts in providing an outlet for the responsible management of household chemicals and encourages all County residents to take advantage the program.
