About the Department

The Finance and Administration Department provides critical staff support that includes: preparation and monitoring of the agency’s budgetary needs, coordinating purchase of all goods and services, and maintenance of the agency’s electronic information systems. 

Administration coordinates employment personnel functions at the agency with the Hillsborough County Civil Service and the Human Resources Department. Staff also provides reception services,  accounting, and custodial support to the agency.

In 1998, the Management Information Systems (MIS) Section completed an upgrade to the Internet communication system providing greatly improved service to DEP and other external sites.  In other areas, Geographic Information Systems (GIS) efforts continue to exist in the agency as individual Arc View workstations, but as yet no funding for a centralized GIS has been identified.
