Pollution Recovery Fund Grants
Available in 2020
The Environmental Protection Commission of Hillsborough County announces that applications for Pollution Recovery Fund (PRF) grants will be accepted in 2020. PRF is funded solely by administrative penalties obtained through enforcement for the necessary correction of pollution. The program was temporarily suspended in 2018 and 2019 to allow the fund to grow to a level that would accommodate future grant projects.
The Pollution Recovery Fund is governed by Chapter 1-9, Rules of the Environmental Protection Commission for the funding of projects to restore polluted areas, mitigate the effects of pollution and to otherwise enhance pollution control activities within Hillsborough County. It is the Commission's intent that the monies be used so as to accomplish an improvement in the purity of the waters, soils or air of the county consistent with public health and enjoyment thereof, and the propagation and protection of wildlife, birds, game, fish and other aquatic life. PRF has provided over $8,000,000 for environmental projects in Hillsborough County since 1987.
Project applications will be accepted between February 1st and March 31st 2020. Please visit the PRF webpage for more information about the PRF program or to apply.
